Palm Centro
According to the new regional distributor, Brightstar, the new Palm centro should be available this week at Php 17,500 (and I hear they are going to offer it at 0% 12 months to pay)

Like Treo, it runs the aged (yet stable) Palm OS Garnet, albeit smaller and more compact. Well, I've always wanted a a device that runs windows Mobile, but my inner geek feeling wants to stay with Palm. It's simple, it loads and runs fast. Plus the fact that I'm very satisfied with my current T|X handheld and I can easily run my existing Palm applications in Centro.
Now, the problem with Treo, is not with the OS. It doesn't have Wifi or 3G (It offers GPRS over EDGE). To me, that's a big problem. See, I've always carried a Nokia 3G phone and a Wifi/bluetooth PDA. Centro would have offered the opportunity for me to ditch two devices and just keep one.
Its 320x320 screen resolution is decent, the phone camera is standard, and voice quality is good; the overall feel is okay.
Apps you can run in Centro:
- Ebook/PDF reader
- PocketTunes/Video player
- Gameboy/NES/SNES Emulator (yes, it can run Super Mario)
- PDA games (Pocket Billiards, Pocket Chess)
- DocumentsTogo (Word, Excel, Powerpoint compatible)
- Versamail (via EDGE)
- Blazer web browser (via EDGE)
