Legacy M:tG

Saturday was the day of the Pre-Eventide Triple Treat event. I joined the Legacy tournament, as usual, dreading the Standard environment where I have little playtest, despite having lesser playtest with Legacy, because the Timmy in me wants to experience competitive Legacy.

Building a new deck concept just the night before, I've decided to bring it to the scene. It's a Doran-Tireless Tribe combo with Ensnaring Bridge for defense. The combo is effective and I really liked it.

On several occassions, I has able to hold my defensive ground for several turns with Ensnaring Bridge, until I drew out Doran to power out Tireless Tribe for the lethal kill. Fancy, yes, but consistent, not really. I needed a way to make my creatures evasive.

I found the last piece of the deck right after the tournament. I needed a Glare of Subdual. I traded one with a player and immediately tested the modified version with another player. The Glare of Subdual was effective and it might just work. I would probably play this version in the next Legacy tournament.

I ended with 3 wins and 3 loses (1 win courtesy of a bye). Not bad for someone with little to no playtest. I didn't get a free pass to the Eventide pre-release, so I had to shell out some dough to buy one. See you at the pre-release!
